The Farmington Police Department has a rich history of law enforcement excellence serving its citizens since the early 1900’s. From the humble roots of one night watchman to the current department of fourteen, the Farmington Police Department is a progressive and professional agency focused on education and excellent training. QUALIFICATIONS & HIRING PROCESS Applicants interested in joining our “family” and carrying on the proud tradition must be at least 21 YOA or 20 YOA with 60 college credits. Candidates will be required to pass the MCJA BLEPT entrance level physical fitness test and Alert test before participating in an oral board. Upon successful completion of the oral board candidates will be required to pass polygraph, medical, and psychological exams, as well as an extensive background check, and both phases of the MCJA LEPS training. We are now offering a signing bonus of up to $8,000 for candidates who hold a Maine Law Enforcement certification and are successfully hired by our agency.
