Responsibilities of the Water Fitness Instructor - This Water Fitness Instructor position is responsible for instructing group swim classes as assigned by the Aquatic Supervisor; evaluating programs and making recommendations for improvements to the Aquatic Supervisor. Water Fitness Instructors will deliver a safe and excellent customer service experience to our residents, members and patrons while enforcing and adhering to existing policies and procedures. The Water Fitness Instructor position will work cooperatively with all Aquatics and facility personnel to promote customer satisfaction with programs and facilities with effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Water Fitness Instructors act as public relations representative for the Aquatics Department and The Center of Clayton. Staff will inform supervisor of all positive and negative information regarding the physical facility, aquatics staff or general public. Water Fitness Instructors will monitor attendance policies and keep patrons abreast of class information and registration deadlines. As well as, ensure program safety by monitoring class area and notifying program supervisor of any maintenance or safety concerns, as well as documentation of accidents or incidents. Water Fitness Instructors may utilize program equipment and supplies and creatively develop new uses for enhancing instruction and are encouraged to secure and maintain any discipline-specific certifications necessary. Water Fitness Instructors must attend all staff meetings or training sessions as required.

Water Fitness Instructor Job Qualifications - Must be at least 18 years of age. Certification from a nationally recognized organization or minimum two years' work experience in area of expertise. Prefer experience in instruction and proven communication skills. Must possess and maintain applicable discipline-specific certifications; Water Fitness Certification or discipline-specific certification from a regionally accepted organization as proof of competency.
