The clinical department at Venture Forthe focuses on HCBS (Home and Community Based Services)/CORE (Community Orientation Recovery and Empowerment Services) programs under the direction of the Office of Mental Health.


The goal of the CORE/HCBS program derives around the focus of increased behavioral health and addiction recovery through an outpatient system. This includes providing clients with the tools, resources, and skills they can utilize to help in their recovery journey. As a licensed professional in the mental health field you will be given the opportunity to make a dramatic difference in the lives of individuals with mental health struggles who need assistance in their journey of reacclimating into society.


The remote, mental health clinician will work virtually to provide clients support and counseling necessary in their recovery journey. This position will focus on behavioral health interventions to help individuals learn about their moods, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Furthermore, the clinician will help determine goals, types of therapy necessary, provide support to help clients understand underlying thoughts and emotions.


POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITES:

  • This program is designed to help individuals with mental illness to achieve stability and functional improvement in the following areas: daily living, finances, housing, education, employment, personal recovery and/or resilience, family and interpersonal relationships and community integration.
  • Provide virtual services to individuals who have difficulty engaging in site- based programs
  • Work with the individual, their family members, and other significant peers to identify strategies and treatment options specific to the individuals needs with the goal of minimizing the negative effects of mental illness symptoms, emotional disturbances, or associated environmental stressors which interfere with the individual’s treatment goals.
  • Provide supportive counseling, solution-focused interventions, emotional and behavioral management solutions, and problem behavior analysis to the individual and others involved.
  • Assist the individual with independent living skills to promote recovery and growth.
  • Provide ongoing rehabilitation support for individuals pursuing employment, housing, or education goals.
  • Work with the individual and others to address functional deficits associated with their mental illness by utilizing strengths-based planning and treatments.
  • Assist the individual with effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that would risk their remaining in a natural community location
  • Other job duties as assigned
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:


Applicant should possess one of the following

  • License in Mental Health Counseling
  • License in Social Work (LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R)
  • License in Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Licensed Psychologist
  • Mental health counseling: 1 year (Required)
  • In addition to the professional license, an ideal applicant should have at least one year of experience (i.e. volunteer/ internship) in mental health and/or substance use counseling.
