The Location: Kearneysville, WV

DLS Engineering is seeking qualified candidates to fill an immediate need for an Inventory Management Specialist supporting the U.S. Coast Guard in Kearneysville, WV.

A Day in the Life:

  • Provide Asset Management Support Services to include management and accountability of Government owned personal property, higher level assembly components item verification, disposal of property assets, and data base management of accountable records maintained in automated systems of record.
  • Perform Personal Property Administrator tasking for the unit's APO by carrying out the duties as described in U.S. Coast Guard Personal Property Management Manual COMDTINST M4500.5 (series).
  • Aid the APO with documenting Higher-Level Assembly Components and tracking their movements in the appropriate system of record, currently FLS.
  • Track and document the movement of property throughout the unit and any applicable detachments utilizing software such as Asset Tracking and Organizational Management (ATOM), CGFIXIT ticketing system, and/or Backtrack.
  • Assist the APO in conducting quarterly general-purpose property and semi-annual capitalized property inventories utilizing the Coast Guard system of record, currently Financial Services and Management System (FSMS) - Oracle Fixed Asset Module (FAM). This includes preparing inventory documentation, completing causative research, and assisting the Property Custodians with preparation and submittal of inventory sheets, documents to correct errors, and surveys.
  • Maintain lifecycle records for each personal property asset, from receipt to disposal or transfer.
  • Provide system administration of for COTS inventory management system (currently Backtrack) and ensure that monthly data comparison and verifications between FSMSORACLE FAM, FLS data bases ensuring data is accurate in the Coast Guard's official system of record.
  • Assist with property disposal to include submitting disposal forms for approval, performing and/or monitoring government screening and sales process, and coordinating the transfer of property to the appropriate entity, to include packaging the property, if necessary.
  • Use the DLA web site to produce the Electronic Turn in Documents (ETIDS) for item disposal after advertising has completed for all other means of transfer.
  • Affix Mandatory Turn In Documents (DD-1348-1As) to equipment being disposed of with DLA or any other authorized facility.
  • Aid customers requesting property accountability support, shipping, and receiving of property and HLA components at the Kearneysville, WV site, and provide, from Kearneysville, WV, support to geographically displaced activities that report to the APO in Kearneysville, WV.
  • Perform receipt functions for incoming packages to Kearneysville, WV that could be delivered from either commercial carriers or United States Postal Service (USPS).
  • Familiarize their self with the loading dock and storage room at Kearneysville, WV, and be able to provide loading and unloading capabilities for deliveries arriving on-site from either commercial carriers or USPS.
  • Process shipping request submitted by customers via MS OUTLOOK or in person and obtain to include obtaining shipping documents and/or appropriate bill of ladens.
  • Assist customers with properly preparing material for shipment and in the receipt and distribution of material to recipients.
