POSITION PURPOSE:

Provides supervision and direction for all Housekeeping activities of the hotel to ensure the high levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Clean, inspect and punch rooms daily and ensure brand standards for room cleanliness are always met.
  • Train new housekeepers in all Olshan SOPs and equipment usage.
  • Assign, direct and manage morning break outs and boards
  • Fulfill guest requests as needed
  • Acting Housekeeping/ Operations manager when they aren’t present

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position maybe required to perform additional functions as determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the hotel.

Maintain inventories of amenities, chemicals and other supplies to insure items are in stock and reorders in timely manner.

Coordinate with laundry to ensure rooms linen is picked up and delivered to meet guest needs.

May need to work in any area of Housekeeping department in case the need arises.

OTHER:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Upon employment, all team members are required to fully comply with hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Team members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with guests and staff as is necessary to effectively run the department.
  • Able to set priorities, plan and organize.
  • Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach to assist other housekeeping staff to complete their individual tasks if situation demands.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and additional training to acquire required knowledge and skills.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years housekeeping experience in hotel industry. Minimum one year as housekeeping supervisor.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES: CPR Certification and First Aid training preferred.

GROOMING: All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance in accordance with OHMI/Courtyard standards. Professional attire required.

OTHER: Additional language ability preferred.
