Logistics Coordinator

Summary

Graphite One (Alaska) Inc. is hiring Logistics Coordinators to support exploration activities at its Graphite Creek Project in western Alaska. Successful candidates will be responsible for planning and scheduling movement of freight and personnel between our Nome Camp and the Graphite Creek Project.

Residents of Nome, AK may travel to and from the work site at Graphite One's Nome Camp at Satellite Field. Residents from outside the region or from surrounding villages will be provided room and board at Graphite One's Nome Camp.

All Graphite One (Alaska) Inc camps, including the Nome Camp, are drug and alcohol-free facilities. Graphite One has a zero-tolerance policy for the possession of or job performance under the influence of any drug, including marijuana, or alcohol.

The position reports to the Project Manager and may take directions from other project staff.

The position is anticipated to last from late May to late September 2023 depending on weather conditions.

Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesSafety

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where prescribed.

• Regularly inspect the workplace for safety and housekeeping issues

• Evaluate job risks and know how to exercise Stop-Work-Authority until risks are mitigated

• Complete Job Hazard Assessments for all work tasks where required

• Comply with all Graphite One site safety and company policies and procedures

• Participate in daily toolbox / safety meetings

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule both personnel and freight movement between Nome and the Graphite Creek Project

• Coordinate the cost-effective and time efficient use of helicopters with the Project Manager

• Manage the project's Expeditor's to ensure freight and personnel delivery needs are met

• Conduct pre-shift inspections of equipment and workplace

• Drive personnel and light freight between the Nome Camp and Nome

• Communicate effectively via radio with project staff and contractors including helicopter pilots

• Operate all equipment and perform all work duties in a safe, efficient manner.

• Communicate respectfully with all camp employees, contractors, and consultants

• Other tasks as assigned

Work Schedule

The position will operate 12 hours per day on a 20-day on / 10-days off rotation. Alternate schedules may be available for Nome residents not staying in the camp.

Qualifications

• Previous remote logistics experience preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Develop and maintain organized systems for planning, tracking, and reporting.

• Current driver's license is required.

• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions

• Willingness to ask questions and get clarification from supervisors

• Willingness to alert supervisors to errors and participate in resolving them

• Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout the day

• Ability to work cooperatively with other employees, contractors, and consultants

• Eligible to work in the United States

Graphite One (Alaska) Inc. maintains a drug free workplace including marijuana and its derivitives. Certain activities related to this position are reimburseable by a US Department of Defense grant.
