The Seaside Oregon Police Department is establishing a Police Officer hiring list for Lateral Candidates. All POST-certified laterals interested in working as police officers in Seaside, Oregon, should apply by the application deadline of Sunday, April 28, 2024. Applicants must have at least two years of experience as a sworn police officer.

If you are selected, in-person testing and interviews will be conducted on Saturday, May 4, 2024, beginning at 8 a.m. and running most of the day. Please save this date so that you can attend should you be selected for the initial screening.

Seaside Police Officers are responsible for protecting the life and property of residents and visitors within the City of Seaside. Officers provide emergency aid, security, education, and State Laws and City Ordinances enforcement. Seaside police officers respond to requests for information and assistance, investigate criminal activity, encourage community engagement, make arrests, work with people to solve problems associated with crime and neighborhood problems, and ensure proper enforcement of laws and regulations.
