What You Can Expect

As our Engineering Intern, in Columbus, OH at The Ohio State University you will be responsible for supporting ENGIE's Central Capex and Major Partnerships team, concentrated on various technical engineering measures for The Ohio State University's District Energy System. Every day you will use energy accounting, modeling, and forecasting. You will report to the Senior Energy Engineer. This internship work term will be approximately from June 3, 2024-August 30, 2024.

What You'll Bring

  • You are a Senior- Undergraduate; Graduate or PhD level student
  • You have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • You have focused on energy, sustainability, or mechanical engineering for current research and/or previously obtained degree (undergraduate / graduate) majors
  • You will consolidate process data of The Ohio State University's district energy system to support decisions about infrastructure investments, equipment upgrades and to support expansion planning
  • You will collaborate in other work assignments including feasibility assessments, optimization and energy savings analyses, technology feasibility analyses, equipment accounting and organization, design plan reviews, and attending design meetings
  • You are confident in project work that will cover capacity roadmaps, hydronic delta-T analyses, decarbonization studies, procurement and sourcing of utilities, and implementation and engineering acumen to support similar areas

  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Proficient with reviewing technical engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Proficient with engineering economics and cost estimating
  • Proficient knowledge with district energy systems and associated major equipment and components, interplay and relationship between energy streams
  • 10-20 hours per week, Additional hours/weeks may be available based on business needs and will be discussed in advance with supervisor
  • Additional terms may be available if interest by candidate and deemed appropriate by supervisor

Compensation

Salary Range: $24.00 to $32.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
