Job Description
Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Visalia, California. This role involves overseeing our company's internal financial accounting processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will lead a team of accounting professionals, collaborate with other departments, and support the organization's overall financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide timely and relevant information to management for decision-making purposes.
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of adjusting journal entries.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during annual audits and tax filings.
• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to foster their professional development.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support business initiatives.
• Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Assist in special projects and initiatives as needed.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager/Supervisor role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary
• Familiarity with General Ledger management is essential
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong understanding of tax codes and laws
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must possess strong organizational and planning skills.
