This position facilitates support services to school districts as needed and serves as a liaison for the Department with school districts.

  • Perform duties in a professional, honest, and responsible manner.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) programming.
  • Provide technical assistance to local education agencies (LEAs) and others meeting eligibility for DESE supports, interventions, and resources.
  • Serve as a liaison between DESE and LEAs; support agency communications and flow of information between DESE and LEAs.
  • Assist in the coordination of designated activities and support services provided to LEAs.
  • Assist LEAs in the use and analysis of data; assist in the development and implementation of public schools' Continuous School Improvement Plans (CSIP); and facilitate public schools in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of improvement and progress monitoring efforts.
  • Assist LEAs with compliance requirements. (E.g., Core Data submittals, Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) documentation, district/charter assurance checklist, DESE surveys, etc.).
  • Participate in LEA reviews for the purpose of evaluating local school programs and ascertaining the quality of educational services provided.
  • Participate in the Department's leadership training programs and monitor districts' fidelity in implementing leadership training.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university, supplemented by graduate study to the level a specialist or doctorate degree that fulfills the requirements for a district-level administrator's certificate. Eight years of progressively responsible administrative professional experience in the field of education, including four years of experience as superintendent or assistant superintendent of schools

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university, supplemented by graduate study to the level a specialist or doctorate degree that fulfills the requirements for a district-level administrator's certificate. Four years of experience in the evaluation of development of educational programs.
