Job Description
If you love Human Resources and you're looking for an engaging, new Generalist opportunity, Robert Half has the opportunity for you as a Human Resources Generalist. This role will involve various HR duties, including recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, updating the employee handbook, and managing employee relations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
- Compare federal, state, and local laws to current internal policies and procedures
- Evaluate employee performance, including appraising pay scales, assisting with annual reviews, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
- Collaborate with employees, upper management, and third-party vendors
- Develop templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
- Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
- Manage employee relations, which may include finding new ways to engage employees or coordinating sensitive conversations
- Responsible for operations tasks for the HR department
- Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
- Create & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
- Develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
- Work with other members of the HR department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
- Proficient with Labor Relations, collective bargaining, union negotiations
- Prior experience or knowledge managing Open Enrollment is a plus
- B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
- Prior full cycle recruiting experience
- The responsibilities of this position will require you to be highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Prior HR experience in a Generalist capacity
- Proven understanding local, state and federal laws
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
- Excellent written and verbal business skills
