Job Description:

Obstetrics/Gynecology Office Nurse Position at Arlington location. Outpatient office.

No weekends or holidays.

Requirements

1. Must have excellent computer and typing skills as this position is computer based.

2. Knowledge of nursing process, theories, and clinical expertise related to patient care, normally acquired through the completion of a nursing training program at an NLN accredited school of nursing.

3. Current registration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Triage Nurse Duties and Responsibilities

1. Works collaboratively with office staff, medical assistants, midlevel providers and physicians to facilitate patient care. Arranges referrals to ancillary services.

2. Triage patient telephone calls and arrange follow up as indicated.

3. Review laboratory results and consult with the provider as needed. Document and inform patient of results and treatment recommendations.

4. Communicates pertinent patient information and findings to providers and patients in a timely manner.

5. Prescription refills and prior authorizations.

6. Educate and document teaching and follow-up care with patients and families. Maintain client education materials.

7. Follow up and track patients of clinical concern.

8. See patients for education appointments, urinary tract infections, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections and immunization as ordered by the provider
