Laser Machine Operator

Pay Rate: $22-$24 per hour (Based on Experience)

**Sign-On Bonus $1200**

After the completion of one year of service.

Job Summary for Laser Machine Operator :

The laser machine operator safely performs laser cutting for a variety of organizational manufacturing needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Laser Machine Operator :

• Performs typical laser cutting of sheet metal through automated CO2 laser machine.
• Receive work orders and jobs to process from supervisor.
• Review required raw materials (sheet stock) needed and work with material handler to retrieve material for placement into laser shelving system.
• Load proper programs into machine controller.
• Designate completed work to specific offload worktables and place matching work folders with correct tables to be processed in the shake out area.
• Perform preventative maintenance specific to laser function.
• Adjust focal beam.

Non-Essential Duties for Laser Machine Operator:

• Maintain and organize fixtures required/related to laser processing.
• Maintain and organize consumables (nozzles, lenses, slats, etc.).
• Maintain, organize, and label sheet metal drop rack for later use.
• Operate overhead crane for full sheet material loading.
• Load drop sheets onto cutting table.
• Detect and report defective materials to the production supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Laser Machine Operator:

• Knowledge of fabricated sheet metal manufacturing.
• Knowledge of different types of metals (Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, etc.).
• Expert ability to read engineering blueprints.
• Knowledge of assist gases used in laser processing (oxygen, N2, etc.).
• Excellent organizational skills.

Experience and Education for Laser Machine Operator:

• Previous Planning/ Scheduling experience.
• 3 - 5 years previous Supervisory/ Cell leadership experience in a Job Shop.
• 3 - 5 years' experience in CNC Programming, Machine operation, or laser operation.
• 1 - 2 years' working knowledge of CAD Programs.
• 2- or 4-year degree or technical schooling in manufacturing fields or 5-10 years of proven increased responsibility in the area of CNC programming/ manufacturing.

Compensation details: 22-24 Hourly Wage
