Summary
The AP-Accounting Clerk is responsible for the general booking to accurately maintaining company records. The ideal person for this role is driven, analytical, ethical and collaborative. A successful candidate will combine technical accounting knowledge with the ability to identify opportunities to improve profitability and to continually deliver process improvements.

Reason why role exists
Your purpose is to ensure that the financial presentation is being executed faithfully and accurately. You will be preparing the month end reporting and be involved in annual financial audits. Managing and recording our assets, create reports for cost accounting purposes is a crucial part of the monthly tasks you will have to complete.
Areas in which you must produce results
Your primary responsibilities are:
1. Posting accounts payable invoices and prepare payments in a timely manner
2. Monthly reporting of financial statements
3. Cost accounting
4. Ensure that following up and prioritizing is done consistently
Areas in which you must exercise control
You must ensure that:
1. Bookkeeping – accurate recording journal entries (ie. accruals)
2. Accurate reconciliations for all balance sheet and bank accounts
3. Vendor payments are done meeting deadlines
4. Manage fixed assets
5. Prepare and support annual financial audits
6. Process travel expenses through Concur
7. Create new reports
8. Report sales to various US states
9. Filing of invoices and other documents
10. Pay taxes
11. Correspond with bank (ie. re. debit filters / blocks)
12. Administrative and contract management duties
13. Other duties may be assigned
Metrics
Key performance indicator:
• On time completion of month end financial reporting
• On time vendor payments / Discount utilization rate
Primary responsibilities
You are the main point of contact for accounting related questions. You will work with management and provide adequate reporting in a timely fashion.
The greater proportion of your time will be spent:
1. Posting accounts payable invoices
2. Prepare payments
3. Preparing month and year end financials
4. Working with vendors in case of invoices disputes
Requirements
1. 2 years minimum of current Public Accounting Experience
2. BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance | Associates with a minimum of 4 years experience
3. Proficiency with MS Office & Excel, and working knowledge of QuickBooks or Peachtree, SAGE
4. Candidates with SAP knowledge are preferred
5. Strong technical knowledge and skills
6. Strong problem-solving capabilities
7. Ability to multi-task, focus and manage multiple projects simultaneously
8. Must be able to apply accounting principles and ethical standards at work
