The Special Events Costume Character is responsible for creating memorable experiences for all Callaway guests and visitors during our Holiday Special Event Season. Specific duties are discussed in interviews but may include the following: costumed character acting, stage show and dance party performances, story time, games, and photo station assistance. A primary function of this, and every other job at Callaway Resort & Gardens, is to ensure that each member, guest, and visitor receives the highest caliber service.

Responsibilities

Train on daily operation duties including stage shows, dance party, contests, story time, character training, costumes maintenance, and photo stations.

Responsible for daily cleaning and upkeep of all costumes and behind the scenes areas.

Manage guest experience and create a fun, welcoming character experience.

Maintain costume and show supply inventory and any other show/character needs.

Cross-trained on all costume areas: Costumes may be mascot style with mask/head covering, or regular costume with no face covering.

Assist with execution of all shows, dances, and game areas when in costume.

Attend all required program staff meetings and trainings.

Wear issued uniform and adhere to dress code.

Create a nurturing, positive and professional environment while promoting event policies and procedures amongst staff, volunteers, and community.

Communicate clearly, honestly, and respectfully with all staff and participant.

All other duties as specified during staff training and onboarding.

Qualifications

Must be 16 years of age or older and have a valid driver's license.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights, and holidays.

Ability to work effectively with children and adults, as well as people of all ages and abilities.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Stage presence, high energy, and acting experience.

Completion of a background check & valid driver's license.

Ability to stand for long periods of time, and work outside in extreme weather conditions such as, but not limited to, heat, cold, rain, wind.

Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
