Examples of Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Greeting customers upon arrival


• Maintaining a fast speed of service, especially during rush times


• Taking orders from customers and input their selections into the restaurant’s Point of Sale system


• Assembling orders on trays or in bags depending on the type of order


• Processing large orders for events


• Taking orders with accuracy


• Answering questions the customers might have


• Responding to guest questions, concerns and complaints and make sure they leave satisfied


• Following all restaurant safety and security procedures


• Following recipes accurately and maintaining food preparation processes such as cooking, seasoning, dicing, cutting, and slicing vegetables


• Completing hot and cold food preparation assignment accurately, neatly, and in a timely fashion


• Preparing food throughout the day as needed, anticipating and reacting to customer volume


• Maintaining appropriate portion control and consistency monitoring food levels on the line


• Maintaining proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards while preparing and cooking food
