Middle School Athletics Coach

The City of Palo Alto is seeking responsible, enthusiastic, and communicative coaches for our middle school athletics program this Fall. Multiple coaches are needed and is an ongoing hiring process.

Sports include Girls and Boys Flag Football, Co-Ed Cross Country, Girls Volleyball.

Sport specific experience with playing and/or coaching is preferred but we are also interested in candidates willing to learn and receive training/direction.

Fall Season is approximately 8/26-10/25.

Hours are flexible and will be in the afternoons at combinations of times between 2:30pm-6:30pm based on sport. Normal times are about 1.5-2 hours per day.

Program typically runs Monday-Thursday with occasional Fridays.

Practice and game schedules have potential to be adjusted to fit your availability.

Hired coaches become part-time employees of the City of Palo Alto, earning an hourly wage for their time on-site for program, practice/game planning, and parent communication time.

Additional opportunities will be available for Basketball from October-March and for spring sports in April-May.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States, pass a background check, provide a negative TB test, and complete hiring paperwork before starting. These items are all not required at time of application.

Preferred qualifications:

• 16 years or older
