Physical Therapist

The Part Time Physical Therapist will be responsible for providing PT evaluation on individuals annually in areas of muscle tone and/or strength, range of motion, reflex patterns, gross motor capacity, posture and joint alignment, patterns of locomotion and/or ambulation, activities of daily living, 

 Schedule: 10 hours weekly - must be able to provide a consistent schedule within school hours, between 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM Monday thru Friday

Essential Duties of Physical Therapist Part -Time

Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Physical Therapist (PT) will:

• Develop a treatment plan and goal based on assessment 
• Select educational, recreational and social activities in order to aid consumers in adjusting to their disability 
• Teach adaptive skills necessary to perform daily living and/or vocational tasks
• Participate in in-service education for other patient care personnel relevant to techniques and objectives of the program 
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews as required by each program
• Integrate therapeutic intervention techniques into programs or home of person served through consultation with parent/guardian and staff at team meetings, case conferences or through other informal contacts
•  Document therapy activities and results on consumers' records, assist in overall evaluation and rehabilitation of consumers' medical/psychiatric condition by conferring with social workers, nurses and other clinical staff 
• Record progress on all active cases in therapy, monitors therapy status, and makes appropriate recommendations as changes occur
• Perform other duties, as needed
• Supports overall strategic plan of the organization

Essential Qualifications of Physical Therapist Part-Time

Key qualifications include:  

• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy
• Current NYS Physical Therapist (PT) license
• Good Oral and Written Communication Skills.
• Emotional Intelligence
• Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs

Physical/Travel Requirements of Physical Therapist Part-Time  

• Must possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs, kneel, and lifts weights of up to 30lbs.
• Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint.
