The Health Policy Forms Filer will be responsible for the review of new state laws and drafting of group health insurance policy forms that comply with both state and federal laws in a timely manner. While obviously there will be an initial training period, this position requires an independent person who does not require a great deal of direct supervision. Also, State Departments of Insurance determine our deadlines-and at times overtime is required to meet those deadlines. The Health Policy Forms Filer has frequent professional communication with reviewers at the State Departments.


 


Primary Responsibilities:




  • File health insurance product forms with Insurance Departments using the SERFF filing system, and work with insurance department regulators to obtain approval of all forms



  • Follow extensive internal procedures related to preparing forms for filing and communicating approval of forms internally



  • Update appropriate tracking grids and databases with the status of each filing project



  • Actively and knowledgeably participate in a variety of meetings related to regulatory issues, product development, and forms drafting



  • Work with other internal departments to ensure that forms accurately represent internal processes



  • Serve as a resource for teammates

Requirements

Required Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree




  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills



  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects



  • Initiative and ability to work independently, with little or no direction and meet all deadlines on time and with accuracy



  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:




  • 3+ years of experience reviewing state laws and evaluating and revising state forms



  • 3+ years of experience drafting and filing health insurance policy forms

  • 2+ years of experience in a health care regulatory environment


  • Experience filing via the SERFF filing system
