I. Job Summary

Operate and maintain the Organic Recovery Plant / Operate heavy equipment as needed / Perform and complete other duties supporting site operations as assigned.

II. Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.

Gain familiarity with plant equipment, treatment operation, process of flow and specified procedures. Maintain daily operating records. Collect hourly readings and report to shift supervisor / control room operator.

Perform maintenance tasks as assigned by shift supervisor. Operate heavy equipment associated with plant operations. Mix pre-treated materials as needed keeping accurate records of all materials tracked / handled.

Perform RCRA inspections in accordance with established schedules and procedures.

Calibrate and Operate PID monitor in accordance with Method 21 written procedure. Complete associated regulatory compliance forms.

Operate centrifuge maintaining equipment in good working order. Separate and segregate by product materials properly via phase separation in accordance with prescribed procedures.

Operate control room and complete required paperwork meeting permit, lab, and regulatory requirements.

Collect samples of treated waste materials submit to lab and complete required paperwork according to prescribed procedures.

Attend all applicable training on regularly scheduled basis including annual 24 Hr. HAZWPR, confined space entry, first aid/AED/CPR provider training.

Must be willing to participate in emergency response rescue team.

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe work environment. This includes responsibility for cleaning the work station, reporting defective equipment, storing and handling equipment or materials properly, and participating in company training.

Follow site safety and environmental policies and practices.

Participate in safety meetings, problem solving meetings, incident and near-miss investigations.

Promote by example Waste Management's safety and environmental policies.

IV. Qualifications

A. Education and Experience

High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience: 2 years relevant work experience.

Good verbal and writing communication skills

General math skills

Basic computer skills

4 years equipment operating experience
