Why get a seasonal job? And why money is only one reason…

Before and during the holiday season, virtually every employer hustles to find additional help.

With increased demand (did you know most retailers make over half their revenue during the holidays?), businesses need to staff up for the seasonal rush. And it’s not just retailers. There’s a huge need for everyone from delivery drivers to tax preparers. This includes hourly full-time, part-time, and one-off shift work.

But most importantly, what’s in it for you?

Sometimes a full-time/year-round job isn’t ideal for everyone. Seasonal jobs are a great way to land a few months of steady work, then move on to new opportunities. They’re also a great way to supplement your income temporarily, without a long-term commitment.

Seasonal jobs, especially part-time ones, are a great way to pick up extra cash (even if you already have another job). You can fund your holiday spending (or maybe holiday travel plans) with income from an extra job. You may also get employee discounts, meals before or after work, and you might even make a lifelong friend or two along the way.

And what if you're not working now? A seasonal role is an easy way to get income rolling in fast. This can give you some much-needed breathing room while you look for that long-term dream job (which we all know you deserve and will find).

So, if you’re exploring overall career options, a holiday job is a rewarding way to try something new. It’s also a great way to get your foot in the door, as employers often hire people with less experience this time of year. If you try a new field and like it, you’ve now got experience.

We’re pulling for you, so get out there and make things happen.
