Snagajob's 2020 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Report
Welcome to Snagajob’s first ever Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Report. This year, we saw the biggest civil rights movement in the history of our country unfold, and the impacts of centuries of systematic racism became an overdue topic of workplace conversations, including here at Snagajob. Our intent for publishing this report is to give you, a member of our Snagger community, a more transparent view into our journey, measures, and forward looking aspirations to becoming an anti-racist company. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) matters to Snagajob, and while our organization has made material strides, particularly in Equity and some aspects of Diversity, over the last several years, the events of this year have highlighted some gaps in our current approach. There’s plenty of data that shows diverse and inclusive companies are up to 35% more successful than similarly situated, less diverse ones, and as we look to accelerate rapid growth through 2023 and beyond, we want to ensure we’re able to attract, grow, and retain the talent to get us there. Plus, we think making our company more diverse, equitable, and inclusive is just the right thing to do - period. At this time, we are focusing the conversation on Snagajob corporate employees, not the Snagajob Shifts Crew.
As we push towards continual progress, we are proposing medium and longer term goals that align to core aspects of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, with a specific and intentional focus on improving Diversity. This report reviews those goals in detail and the context and composition for where we stand today. Finally, this report would not have been possible without the open, honest conversations between our Snagger community and executive team. Our Snaggers are resilient and committed, just like the workers we serve, and everyday through this pandemic we’ve leaned on their leadership in making our organization more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. I am proud to be a Snagger.
