This summer, workers are looking to change jobs.
With two open jobs for every available worker, the great reshuffle has freed job seekers to search for better opportunities. Here’s what our survey of over 3,000 hourly workers and their employers found.
80% of hourly workers plan to look for a new job in 2022
62% of hourly workers are looking for seasonal work
54% of job seekers will look specifically for part-time work
59% are considering a new job industry where their skills align
What can you do to attract these wandering workers?
1. Open your pool of candidates to workers with varying skills.
Don’t get locked into specific qualifications, but rather how someone’s skills translate to your position.
2. Consider how a person can grow into a job.
A job seeker who officiated youth soccer games should have the communication and organizational skills to interact with customers.
