Many companies hire additional workers to make sure they have all the help they need for the holiday rush--not only in retail sales roles (though there are plenty of those): businesses need help in warehouses, shipping and delivery, customer service – even extra security.

Top employers hiring seasonal workers

Shipping companies like UPS and FedEx get extra busy during the holiday season, so now is a great time to check them out. 

Target and Walmart are big seasonal employers every year. They’re ramping up their staff in stores as well as distribution and logistics centers, so there’s something for almost everyone. 

Big department stores like Nordstrom, Macy's and Kohl’s are looking to fill all kinds of roles in stores as well as in warehouse and logistics this holiday season.

Bath & Body Works gets a ton of extra business during the holidays since they’re a popular gifting category, so they definitely need extra help in stores. 

Ross Stores, TJ Maxx and Home Goods need help during the holiday season in their stores with Retail Sales Associates, Stock Associates, and Store Protection Specialists. 

Spirit Halloween has been hiring for seasonal work for a while now. 

Specialty stores like GameStop, Journeys, Spencer's, American Greetings, Lowes, etc. are also looking for both seasonal and regular help.

Aldi offers lots of different roles for the busy holiday season.

Five Below is hiring additional people in their specialty discount stores to help them handle the surge of holiday business this year.

Best Buy needs extra help all season long in retail stores and supply chain. And don’t forget their Geek Squad roles, which also ramp up from the holiday season and beyond.

Mobile wireless carriers are also gearing up for the holidays as shoppers look for high-tech gift ideas. Spectrum, Verizon and AT&T are all hiring for both part-time and full-time roles.

Last, but certainly not least, Intuit offers many seasonal roles for tax preparers and customer support as it starts to gear up for its busiest time of year.
