Tips and tricks to getting a job as a Restaurant Crew Member

Typical duties include:
Maintain a fast speed of service, particularly during rush times
Process large orders for events
Greet customers, take orders, and serve food with a consistently positive and helpful attitude, to include answering questions about the menu.
Input orders into a POS system and accept payment using a credit card reader or cash register, calculating customers change accurately and as quickly as required.
Work together with the kitchen staff to prepare foods while following cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements.
Ensure restaurant cleanliness daily by clearing tables, returning trays to the kitchen, sweeping and mopping floors, washing and sanitizing kitchen utensils, and servicing restrooms.
Handle guests’ concerns and complaints professionally and calmly to resolve problems.
Count down your till at the end of each shift and deposit money in the safe
Maintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing a uniform and adhering to company dress code.
Clean your station thoroughly before, during and after each shift.
Restaurant crew members are team-oriented, organized, problem solvers, and attentive to detail. They’re able to learn and understand the different parts of the restaurant and the importance of each role, while also ensuring positive dining experiences for each customer that walks in the door. This requires excellent people skills and the ability to be friendly and cheerful, especially in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiasm, resilience, and stress tolerance all are also qualities employers look for in a strong restaurant crew member candidate. You should also be responsible, have a strong service ethic, and can multitask, and remain calm in stressful situations.
