Job Summary
UPS Supply Chain Solutions is currently seeking an Automotive Specialist that will be responsible for managing critical aspects (e.g., new vehicle allocation, campaigns, Automotive Disposal Authorization [ADA], etc.) of UPS’s fleet. He/She provides analytical support by researching and analyzing equipment data.

Job Duties

Works with Industrial Engineering to create delivery schedules for automotive equipment allocation.

  • Analyzes current equipment and parts to prioritize and allocate fleet alignment.
  • Provides delivery schedules by manufacturer to inform UPS’s delivery expectations.
  • Runs performance queries from the Automotive Information Library on previous year’s automotive equipment to analyze expenditures.
  • Reviews older equipment statistics and submits recommendations to Automotive Engineers to remove equipment from the fleet.
  • Reviews and approves manufacturers’ worksheets for accuracy.
  • Compiles data and creates the Age of Fleet Report to determine equipment in need of removal.
  • Analyzes tracking reports (e.g., repair costs, etc.) to monitor maintenance trends.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of internal and external research to the business; works with others to describe needed information, such as stakeholder perspectives, productivity levels, trends, best practices, etc.; demonstrates a general understanding of research methodologies.
  • Addresses and resolves issues impacting information systems reporting; looks for ways to minimize report generation and required storage; modifies existing report formats; creates and interprets customized reports; integrates data, information, and documents from multiple software programs; writes more complex report queries.
  • Distinguishes between “big picture” comments and specialized, smaller facts associated with work; notes the specifics of events and experiences with assistance (specifics include who, what, where, when, why, and how); explains, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; works with others to ensure that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail.
