A successful Staff Accountant I will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; and two plus years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years financial accounting experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite required with advanced knowledge of Excel and intermediate knowledge of Access.
  • Strong consideration will be given to those with knowledge of Hyperion, SmartView and Oracle.  
  • Ability to develop analytical tools, review financial statements, prepare variance analysis, document processes and work on special projects as assigned.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships with other departments and personnel.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects; knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

 

The Staff Accountant I will be responsible for performing month-end close responsibilities and working with internal customers to review and validate inventory transactions.

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Perform month-end closing activities including journal entries, account reconciliations and account analysis within the time frame determined by management.
  • Review and validate open balances associated with Inventory PO’s while working closely with business partners.
  • Maintain, update and develop process documentations including SOX documents.
  • Work with internal and external auditors on quarterly and annual requests.
  • Assist the field with issues related to the inventory ordering tool.
  • Respond to field inquiries ensuring problems are resolved in a timely manner and with significant customer satisfaction.  Periodically meet with customers to ensure problem resolution and minimize potential for problem reoccurrence.
