Job Purpose: The Carry-In Service Technician I will provide timely and quality diagnosis and repair of customer’s products while maintaining high customer service. This position is responsible for the diagnosis and repair of one or more of the following specialties:

• Two-cycle, four-cycle, mechanical/electrical and other miscellaneous equipment. Job Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnosis of customer’s product.

• Order parts, research part availability, and complete customer service orders.

• Follow the guidelines set up by the parts department to promote accountability and avoid shrinkage.

• Installs mechanical/electronic parts and performs necessary repairs.

• Forward product to next stage in the repair process.

• Provide direction to the Technician Assistants, as applicable.

• Mentors and coaches other associates, as applicable.

• Creates detailed estimates and makes initial customer contact to sell the repair, as applicable.

• Must meet key performance metrics to include daily, weekly, and monthly goals.

• Understand and adhere to Sears’ ISO procedures, work instructions, and related forms.

• Successfully complete all Technician I training elements within required timeframes, as applicable.

• Continuously look for methods to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience.

• Back-up for all Line Specialists and Line Support if necessary.

• Adhere to all company Policies and Procedures.

• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

Specific Essential Functions:

• Ability to follow directions.

• Ability to perform accurate diagnosis and repair of customer product.

• Ability to select and safely use basic tools or instruments to diagnose and repair customer product.

• Ability to provide an accurate estimate of the cost of repair.

• Ability to handle stressful situations and work in a fast paced environment.

• Ability to work variable and flexible hours, including overtime.

• Ability to perform all services within manufacturer specifications and Home Service Policies and Procedures.

• Ability to perform all procedures and work instructions according to ISO 9001 standards.

• Ability to use a computer for parts/inquiries/ordering.

• Ability to demonstrate appropriate time management skills.

• Ability to follow specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship and prevent recalls.

• Ability to apply appropriate safety procedures and equipment to protect company and customer assets.

• Ability to apply appropriate use of personal protective equipment (i.e. back belt, safety glasses)

• Ability to work around gas and oil products within the EPA and OSHA guidelines

• Ability to incorporate views of co-workers and customers with different perspectives to improve operations.

• Ability to read and utilize reports as needed. Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Certification and /or licenses as required

• Must be able to pass the pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check

• Experience and aptitude with computers and databases Required Job Competencies:
