Working as a Manager of Clinical Data Analytics you will be managing and mentoring a team of clinical data analysts and curators. Responsibilities include management and mentorship of your team on complex implementations, collaborating with other manager(s) within the Clinical Informatics group, and working cross functionally with other groups within the data pipeline. In addition to manager responsibilities, you will be an expert data analyst yourself, responsible for owning client implementations, and representing Clinical Informatics to key clients.  You will also continue to sharpen your data analysis techniques, and continue to expand your knowledge of SQL. Primary Responsibilities:


  • Manage and mentor a team consisting of data analysts and data curators in their work on client implementations, data investigations, and data improvement projects.  Including:

    • Assigning/triaging work

    • Helping with complex analyses

    • Stepping in on high-visibility or troublesome implementations

  • Report to the Director of Clinical Data Analytics the overall activities and bandwidth of your team

  • Identify and work on processes to aid in scaling, efficiency, and data quality

  • Work with other managers within and outside of Clinical Informatics on new functionality, process improvements, data pipeline efficiencies, etc

  • Perform basic data analyst duties of understanding the clients data in its own native format in client-side data structures, writing specifications for engineers regarding how to process the client data, assisting in the implementation of the client until their go-live, and continuing to trouble shoot or work on updates thereafter

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience working with data, analyzing data and understanding data

  • 2+ years of experience working with SQL, whether used in your job or learned on your own


  • Working knowledge of relational database systems

  • Experience with mentoring fellow or junior staff members

  • Competence with PCs and Windows Office applications

  • Bachelor's degree, or work equivalent, in health sciences, health information systems, computer science, mathematics or related field  

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Clinical or medical data analysis or management experience

  • Understanding of clinical processes and vocabulary

  • Education that included courses in economics, mathematics, or computer science

  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Excel

  • Leadership or personnel management experience
