POSITION SUMMARY
Time for Change Foundation Grant Writer/Fund Developer should possess excellent writing and
Computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel), and database management skills. Must be able to identify, define, and develop funding sources to support Existing and planned program activities as well as coordinate the development, writing, and Submission of grant proposals to federal and state entities. Work is performed under direction of the Executive Director; must be able to work independently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for writing proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects and submitting timely and accurate reports for all existing grant funded projects.
Write private grants according to organization's strategic priorities.
Coordinate the writing of federal and state grants and collection of all data and information needed to satisfy grant requirements.
Research and identify a database of private grants. Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants.
Manage grant submission, subsequent reporting, and maintenance of grant data to satisfy funders' needs.
Submits all grant reporting on an accurate and timely basis.
Work with senior managers to support development needs in developing and updating content to support marketing efforts.
Ensure editorial accuracy and consistency of content, spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity and style.
Establish daily priorities, monitor a heavy individual workload and balance a desire for perfection with the necessity to meet deadlines.
Consistently committed to delivering high-quality, error-free work.
Possess sufficient copyediting knowledge and experience to be able to restructure copy to achieve improved flow and readability.
Adhere to process and quality procedures, ensuring utmost accuracy for all components.
Proven success rate with securement of both federal and state grants.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BS/BA degree, preferably in English or Journalism.
Minimum 5 years of grant writing experience in a high-volume, deadline-oriented setting.
Proven track record of over $1 million dollars in grant funds, from both, state and federal funding sources
Solid computer skills, including online editing in PC and Mac environments. Proficiency required in Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Outlook.
Excellent command of the English language: grammar, spelling, style and diction.
Strong working knowledge of AP Style is valuable and preferred.
Well-organized, detail-oriented multi-tasker who proactively manages his/her time while juggling multiple deadline-driven projects, sometimes under high pressure. Ability to assess daily workload status throughout the day in order to meet client deliverables.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High-level concentration and ability to focus on copy-intensive materials that may be lengthy or dull, and must be able to maintain an above-average level of accuracy the first time around.
Aptitude for individual and collaborative work. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Well-developed task management skills and the ability to proactively assume project ownership.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, take direction and accept constructive criticism in a professional, mature manner. Must also be self-motivated, show initiative and be able to work independently.
Proven ability to shift gears quickly in a fast-paced agency environment. Must be flexible to work late when required, especially as print deadlines approach (sometimes with short notice).
Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
