A successful Project Manager will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s (B.S) or Associate (AA) degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, and/or 2-3 years of Project Management experience or direct work experience in technical software project management capacity
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with IT management, software development and test teams, and infrastructure teams
  • Basic knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management; knowledge of technical software project management techniques and tools
  • Proven experience to work cross-functionally and influence individuals and Teams
  • Knowledge of software development phases and processes, including a working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC); nowledge of IT bundle releases and weekly/biweekly deployments; knowledge of Agile/Waterfall methodology is a plus
  • CAPM/PMP certification is a plus; CSM certification is a plus; working knowledge of Windows applications.

 

An Associate or a PM I Software Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, monitoring and control, and completion of software implementation projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals and objectives. 

 

Primary Responsibilities fall into the following categories: 

  • Lead the planning and implementation of small to medium size projects in the Customer Applications PMO
  • Participate in meetings to define project scope, goals and deliverables ; define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop a timeline/schedule or a complete project plan for your projects working with various teams; assemble and coordinate project staff
  • Plan and schedule weekly/daily or ad hoc meetings; track project deliverables using appropriate tools; provide direction and support to project team; Quality Assurance and UAT
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders; present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes to achieve project outputs; project evaluations and assessment of results throughout and post project deployment
