About this job



Background:

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic controls, conveyor systems, and field packaging machines and equipment. Observes, dismantles, examine, repair and inspects a variety of mechanical packaging equipment. Train machine operators at customer locations on proper machine set-up, safety and total machine operation.

Responsibilities:

Must be able to work safely and housekeeping standards must be maintained.

Train machine operators

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.

Starts devices to test their performance.

Initiates parts requests for machines.

Has minimal customer contact at field locations, must be able to communicate and coordinate machine needs

Requires minimal contact with sales people

Some of our customers can run 24/7, must be able to support as required during peak times

Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems with various mechanical devices

Ability to remove and replace defective parts, complete other repairs

Ability to adjust and maintain machinery

Ability to operate drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts

Ability to understand electrical blueprints, PLC and troubleshooting electrical

Must have valid state driver’s license with good driving record
