The Distribution Manager will oversee distribution and logistics management functions for Arby's Canada as an integral part of the Arby's Restaurant Group and ARCOP teams. ARCOP is the supply chain cooperative for the Arby's brand. There are currently 72 Arby's restaurants in Canada located primarily in Ontario and Alberta. All Arby's restaurants in Canada are owned and operated by franchisees. The Distribution Manager position will be based in Canada.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Distribution Manager will further develop and manage Arby's distribution network in Canada to ensure the uninterrupted supply of food, paper and supplies to Arby's restaurants. This includes managing high service standards and food handling practices of the individual distribution centers. This role will also assist in other areas in order to drive the least landed cost for delivered products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage, track and report on the distribution service Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

2. Implement and manage corrective action plans with distribution related complaints and substandard service

3. Ensure compliance with all terms, conditions, and parameters established within distribution contractual agreements. Includes monitoring safety stock levels, minimum order quantities and contracted lumper program guidelines.

4. Foster strong working relationships with Arby's Canada franchise operations teams in order to communicate and educate them on ARCOP's value added services and programs

5. Evaluate inbound logistics/freight management opportunities and implement improvements

6. Utilize ARCOP's technology/visibility system to accomplish required tasks and ad hoc projects, reports, and analysis

7. Monitor and report on distribution drop size, delivery revenue, backhaul revenue, cash discounts and other distributor revenue streams.

8. Manage preparation and execution of semi-annual business reviews

9. Administer semi-annual distribution survey and drive continuous improvement

10. Administer and report on the distribution fuel surcharge programs

11. Evaluate risk in conjunction with distributor's distribution disaster preparedness plan

12. Manage distribution related RFI/RFP's and establish contractual agreements

13. Manage distribution transitions and implementation of related contracts

14. Tracking, management, and coordination of the ARCOP/ARG GS1 initiative

  

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. / B.A. degree in Business, Supply Management or related field
  • Five years of equivalent or related experience
  • Understanding of distribution and logistics in the foodservice restaurant industry

  • Experience working with distribution and logistics services, and the foodservice distribution network in Canadian
  • Experience working with and supporting franchisees
