What you will be doing as a Warehouse Associate/Dryer Feeder

Roll loaded veneer wagon onto lift table, positioning the wagon so

that veneer is to operator side and wagon cross boards are lined up with roller chain. Wagon must be lined up so that veneer is under suction at least 30%. Turn on suction blower and belts.

Standing or sitting in the center of wagon, raise lift table until it is close to the vacuum belts. Raise top sheet of veneer until vacuum grabs it. This works best when veneer is parallel to belts over entire length of belts. Continue lifting top sheet until finished with flitch, being careful not to overlap sheets, send more than one sheet at a time, or fold sheets over. It is strongly recommended to use picks provided to separate top sheet from stack, especially on quarters.
When done with flitch, send top sheet of next flitch and stop feeding for 25 seconds. For export, all four quarters are considered one flitch and both crowns the other flitch. When drying veneer that has quarters and crowns, always leave a 3' gap between veneer after feeding the first sheet of the next quarter or crown. If the total height of all 4 quarters is over 24", split the flitch between the quarters of the first flitch and the second flitch. Do the same with the crowns.
When wagon is empty, lower lift table and remove wagon from lift table to wagon storage area.
Feed top sheet of next wagon before loading next wagon on lift table.
Use Hearing Protection, Eye Protection, and wear Steel-toed shoes at all times.
Become familiar with safety shut off ropes and switches. Never climb on belted section while dryer is running.
Make sure no thin boards are in veneer. Only full backing boards should be used for stacking of green veneer.
