BULLSEYE MARKETPLACE LEAD

 
PRIMARY FUNCTION
At Target, we have made significant investments in our proprietary digital marketing capabilities. These capabilities enable Target to deliver timely and personalized marketing messages; for our own marketing initiatives and for our partners.
 
One of these investments is Bullseye Marketplace. Developed within the walls of Target, Bullseye Marketplace is a curated digital media marketplace; spanning Video, Display, Mobile, Audio, and Native advertising today with expansion into TV. Bullseye curates today’s media ecosystem for Target to drive industry leading media capabilities and performance.
 
We have a created a strategic role that will lead inventory innovations and marketplace management for Bullseye Marketplace.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage publisher relationships and technical connections
  • Establish a strategic and operational approach to inventory and data acquisition enabled by Bullseye Marketplace, enhancing our inventory and audience data capabilities
  • Manage inventory strategy for all Bullseye Marketplace inventory inclusive of external and Target Owned and Operated Media.
  • Collaborate on the innovation and integration emerging ad-tech capabilities for digital media with both external and internal partners
  • Help drive the creation of in-house inventory tools partnering with Digital Media Product teams
  • Manage and evolve the technical foundation of Bullseye Marketplace (SSP, PMP deals, DFP integration, DSP integrations, etc.)
  • Employ in-depth understanding of ad functionality, supply and demand, and delivery mechanisms to achieve operational scale
  • Partner with trading teams to collaborate on bidding strategies to utilize inventory and data most effectively to drive results
  • Create business and pricing rules based on market value, inventory supply/demand
  • Analyze buyer/seller behavior to identify trends and optimize publisher connections
  • Drive strategy to forecast inventory availability, sell through, employing statistical analysis and modeling when needed
  • Collaborate with cross functional groups including media activation, trading, media strategy, partner agencies, ad product, and finance to identify pricing and revenue opportunities
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue reporting to senior leadership team
 
 
 
 
REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
  • Member of the Digital Advertising Team (Marketing Pyramid)
  • Reports to: Sr. Manager, Bullseye Marketplace
  • Key external constituents include: Media publishers, Supply Side and Demand Side Platforms, audience matching and distribution partners, and agency partners
  • Key internal constituents include: Target Media Network, Target Media Strategy and Category Marketing, Digital Media Product Teams, Digital Advertising Team members
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • B.S. and/or B.A. (4 years)
  • 7+ years of experience in digital marketing
  • 6+ years of ad tech experience
  • 6+ years digital media planning and execution
  • 4+ years of experience effectively leading, managing and developing people
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and outcome focused personality
  • Track record of thinking strategically, delivering results and managing operations
  • Automated media buy/sell experience (DSP/SSP/Ad Serving)
  • Experience managing strategic partnerships in the technology and media spaces
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Experience with agile product development teams
  • Understanding of data acquisition and application
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to tell a story through data; Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong mathematical, statistical and analytical skills
 
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with demand side platform (DSP) media plan & buying or Supply Side Platforms (SSP) and yield management
  • Experience across display, mobile, social and video advertising
  • Experience with data driven content and creative
  • Experience working across many data types and forms
  • Experience with ad serving partners such as DCM
  • Publisher experience a plus
  • Supply side platform experience (SSP) is a plus
