IT Systems Engineer (18007172) Description

The Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining and developing solutions including but not limited to: All tools and services related to managing a Microsoft domain, Azure applications and services, and On Premise enterprise hardware and architecture. This is a lead role in Chipotle’s IT structure, the Systems Engineer should be capable of working autonomously, leading initiatives, and implementing best practices with little oversight.


Responsibilities

In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


System Solutions:

•Ensuring that systems sufficiently and consistently perform to fulfill current and future needs in a cost-effective, secure, and compliant manner

•Subject matter expert on Azure applications, infrastructure, and design as it pertains to IaaS and PaaS

•Creating and managing powershell scripts for automating tasks within a Microsoft ecosystem

•Leading cross team initiatives to mature Chipotle’s IT practices, processes, and technologies

•Identify areas within IT that can be improved, optimized, automated, or matured and proactively take action to correct those situations

•Working with IT team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals by identifying and resolving business systems issues

•Designing and deploying new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems

•Gauging the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems through developing and implementing strategies for improving or further leveraging the systems

•Proposing and creating system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams

•Ensuring smooth implementation of new applications and changes to systems through sound testing procedures, capacity planning, and impact analyses

•Keeping up-to-date on trends and technology innovations to keep central infrastructure current and implementing solutions as cost effective as possible


The ideal candidate will:

•Be knowledgeable of and have the ability to use a PC, along with familiarity of software such as Windows, Microsoft Office Suite; Linux and Mac experience a plus

•Have experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products

•Be experienced with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices

•Be constantly out of their chair and working with other departments to find out how we can be improving their processes and procedures

•Have strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SAN, Virtualization, Backup and Recovery, Disaster Recovery and security products

•Possess demonstrated Linux and Cisco networking skills including LAN, WAN and Cisco Telephony

•Have “SME Level” experience in managing a Microsoft domain in a large enterprise organization

•Have solid testing knowledge and a demonstrated ability to perform and analyze results of capacity planning processes in a complex environment

•Be able to multi-task and serve as a project lead or team player in a fast-paced environment with the ability to help out in areas outside of expertise if necessary

•Have the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects

•Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Be a motivated self-started who can work independently on tasks and projects

•Possess a B.A. /B.S. in related field or an equivalent in education and experience with seven (7) years’ experience working with central systems hardware and software, as well as basic project management

•Have a certification in an area of expertise (MCSE, MCSA, RHCE, VCP, etc.) preferred

•Enjoy travelling to and from Chipotle regional offices when necessary

•Be available for limited on-call duties requiring after-hours work
