Bakery Coordinator Customer Service - Full-time

Our Create-A-Cake team provides an artistic flare in personalizing sweet treats for our customers. In this area, you’ll work with a team to decorate cakes and other bakery treats while adding those impressive finishing touches to customer orders. Product (What We Do)

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of team members, ensure tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently, and ensure the department runs smoothly
• Thaw, bake, fill, frost, decorate and package a variety of cakes and baked goods
• Educate team members on Wegmans core recipes and techniques when personalizing cakes and making a variety of frostings, creams, and fillings to produce a consistent outcome that meets Wegmans high standards of quality
• Ensure the freshest products are available throughout the day by maintaining product levels in well-merchandised cases, rotating for freshness and pulling outdated products
• Educate and ensure team members are properly handling products, using equipment, keeping accurate logs and following sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines and Simplification 5S procedures

Work Environment

• Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, grasping, repetitive and sustained hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment. Work involves exposure to various work environments including cold, freezing & hot temperatures. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 - 25 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 40 pounds occasionally. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
• Work includes the safe and proper handling of cake-decorating equipment and mixers
• Work may include use of hand pallet jack, power pallet jack, power walkie-reach, scissors lift or WAV unit. Wegmans certification required for use of power equipment
