Aerotek Scientific is seeking candidates for field technician opportunities with a client in the Jerseyville, IL:
Assist in planting, pollinating, harvesting, weeding, preparing fields, preparing seed, sampling, detasseling, rogueing, and other field and outdoor seed activities related to crops and fields. Assist in the maintenance and improvement of the farms and assets. Provide support for the client's safety program by adhering to all safety policies and attendance at regular company sponsored safety meetings. Assist by carrying out other duties as assigned.
Position is open because the site needs more hands for harvesting which includes outdoor hand picking corn, some inside work with soybean pod counting later in the fall. Workers will be walking fields, lifting up to 50 pounds, no driving. Hours are 7:30-4pm and rarely weekends, possibly potential for overtime.
Qualified candidates must meet these requirements:
-Able to bend and lift for long periods of sitting or standing
-Must be able to read and write, to understand verbal and written task and safety instructions delivered in English, and to perform assigned tasks accurately
-Must have experience in farming, working in uncontrolled temperature conditions, warehouse environment, harvesting, and/or outside conditions.
