Observe and supervise activities of swimmers in the pool and the surrounding area; enforce applicable pool rules and regulations.br2. Rescue persons in distress or in danger of drowning; provide emergency response as necessary including first aid and CPR.br3. Participate in facilities clean-up and maintenance; clean pool deck, locker rooms and rest rooms.br4. Respond to questions and inquiries from the public regarding pool regulations, use of facilities and various aquatic programs offered.br5. Contribute to a positive work environmentbr6. Incumbents may be in the water for long periods of time and exposed to a variety of environmental elements, including pool chemicals and other irritants. Positions in this classification work with the general public and may occasionally deal with distraught or difficult people.brbrstronguMobility:/u/strong Incumbents are required to perform emergency lifesaving functions and water rescues which include swimming and administering first aid or CPR. Must possess the mobility to stand, sit, stoop, kneel, reach, bend, climb, push and pull materials and equipment, or push and pull children and adults who may require removal from the pool. Requires repetitive foot, arm, shoulder, hand and back movements while swimming.brbrstronguVision, Hearing and Communication:/u/strong Vision and hearing must be sufficient to see and hear adults and children in crowded and noisy conditions and/or situations; vision sufficient to read printed documents and computer screens.
