h4SUMMARY/h4Provide prompt, efficient, courteous service to all guests. Service includes greeting, seating, taking and serving orders, clearing dishes and resetting tables.h4ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/h4 These include the following:ulliDevelop and maintain professional functional working relationships with IHOP employees and guests.liExecute the “Service Success Steps” per the IHOP SOP to ensure a high-quality guest experience.liHandle guest complaints in a timely manner, inquire about the quality of the dining experience, thank guests, and invite them to return.liCommunicate guest food orders and service requests in an accurate and timely manner.liMemorize and apply IHOP terminology, abbreviations, methodologies, and plating and menu knowledge.liComply with SOP methods in regard to guest checks and maintaining cash control.liStock and rotate all needed supplies in the service areas and dining room.liComply with all local and SOP health, sanitation, and safety guidelines.liClear, clean, and reset tables and clean chairs, booths, and floors after guests leave.liPerform all cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts.liComply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards per SOP guidelines.liPerform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or acting supervisor./ulh4QUALIFICATIONS/h4To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write guest checks and simple correspondence. Ability to read and speak English well enough to understand guest checks, read instructions, and communicate with guests.h4MATHEMATICAL SKILLS/h4Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.h4REASONING ABILITY/h4Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.h4OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES/h4IHOP training coursework as assigned.h4PHYSICAL DEMANDS/h4The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
