Registration Clerk - Registration (Per Diem - Varied Shift) - Full-time / Part-time

Providing health care services to nearly 250,000 residents of eastern Contra Costa County, Sutter Delta Medical Center remains the community's only not-for-profit acute care hospital. Its comprehensive services include 24-hour emergency care, surgery, family centers, obstetrics, pediatrics, acute rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, occupational health, physical therapy, intensive care and coronary care. Cardiac catheterization, sports rehabilitation and home health services are also among the medical center's areas of specialized care. The Patient Registration/Communication Representative greets, interviews and registers incoming patients to the hospital in a prompt, professional, courteous and confidential manner.All postings are open to internal candidates only for the first 7 days. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a hospital or related setting is required, with multi-line telephone system experience preferred. 2. Medical terminology desired. Computer experience from a user's perspective is highly desired. Working knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and private insurance payors, collecting payments, and posting of receipts. Knowledge of basic telephone etiquette. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in an atmosphere of changing priorities. Must have accurate typing skills of 35 wpm with basic experience working with main frame computers, calculators, copiers, and multi-line telephone systems.
