Job DescriptionCompany Description
The Warehouse worker/ Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the overall shipping and receiving of goods to and from the Sterling, VA, division of Houston-Starr Doors. The position will also stock incoming parts and products. When performed to company standards, this position will contribute to the overall organization, the upkeep of the entire warehouse, and customer satisfaction, which will help the company be more efficient and profitable.
Primary Duties:
- Responsible for the correct and timely unloading of all vehicles making deliveries to HSC.
- Verifying, receiving, and properly checking in all materials delivered to HSC.
- Responsible for the correct and timely loading of all trucks leaving HSC, as needed.
- Operates a fork truck.
- Work with the manager to maintain inventory control and accuracy.
- Maintain warehouse, work areas, and grounds in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion.
- Pick up/deliver local orders using a company van or box truck (non-CDL) as necessary.
- Process shipping documents accurately.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
The Shipper/Receiver is an ongoing, evolving position. Duties may be added, removed, or modified as seen fit by the management of HSC.
Performance Measured By:
- Timeliness and accuracy of work.
- Dependability
- Shipments are not damaged.
Experience/Education Required:
- U.S. Citizen
- 21+ years old
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds.
- Must have good math aptitude.
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
- Good attendance is required.
- Ability to operate and become certified on a fork truck.
Work Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, no weekend work
- 8-hour workday with ½ hour unpaid lunch period 7:30 am-4:00 pm
Salary Range:
- $20.00-$25.00 per hour
- Paid every two weeks.

Additional factors:
- Must pass criminal and motor vehicle background check.
- Must pass drug screening.
- Heated/Airconditioned warehouse.
