Civil / Structural Engineer

Requirements:

  • An experienced Structural Engineering professional that possesses an E.I.T. or P.E. registration and at least 3 years of experience in structural rehabilitation and evaluation of commercial buildings, waterproofing systems, exterior enclosures, roofs, parking garages, etc.

  • Ability to perform analysis and design, investigation, evaluation and diagnostic testing of existing building structures, exterior enclosures and building components and systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to prepare and/or assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, as well as build and maintain good working relationships with property managers, clients, and staff.

  • Outstanding attention to detail in every aspect of their work.

  • MUST be authorized to work in the United States.

Duties:

  • The ideal person would be a skilled diagnostician and problem solver.

  • Be highly skilled at structural evaluation/investigation and then prescribe the remedy (via depiction of drawings and detailed design solutions).

  • Be able to write/describe specifications and technical detail needed to implement the drawn repairs and then manage the construction/rehabilitation phases.

  • Thrive on wearing multiple hats, the challenge of a problem that needs to be solved; from both the technical and client consulting side as well as the construction implementation side.

  • Be responsible for collaborating with the existing engineering team while managing multiple projects within different stages of development.

  • Enjoy building and strengthening teams' abilities and be the one that mentors and provides leadership to junior and intermediate engineers.

  • Required to go to site, speak with the building owner and communicate in layman's terms what the issue is and how you are prepared to fix it.

  • Perform analysis and design, investigation, evaluation and diagnostic testing of existing building structures, exterior enclosures and building components and systems.

  • After client inspection, prepare bids and proposals as well as build and maintain good working relationships with property managers and clients, as well as staff.

  • Flexibility and Autonomy is given to work environment. Working from office, home, and site.
