Dietary Aide


The Dietary Aide preps foods for the cold station, deliver to other departments/buildings, wash dishes, and clean kitchens. The position involves a variety of duties such as cleaning, inventory, food preparation, and front counter. In addition, serves food to residents, visitors, in a friendly manner. The shift is 5:30 am to 2pm, every other weekend.


Responsibilities:

  • Complete food prep for tray line and cooler.
  • Purée food as needed.
  • Stock carts with ice water and iced tea for lunch.
  • Load and deliver cards to various areas of the complex, including childcare, hospital, senior living, and nursing home.
  • Make puddings, jellos, and salads for the next day.
  • Serve lunch on tray line.
  • Refill salad bar.
  • Check dates on pudding, custards, etc., to ensure that none are more than three days old.
  • Clear tables and sanitize tables and tabletop items.
  • Empty carts and take out trash.
  • Wipe inside and outside and fronts of carts with sanitizer solution.
  • Clean coffee pots and other kitchen equipment.
  • Clean up kitchen and wash dishes.
  • Prepare kitchen and dining rooms for the next meal.
  • Answer kitchen phone as needed.
  • Prepare tray line with napkins, wrapped silverware, trays, lids for plates, place mats.
  • Place food and beverage items on trays according to meal requests or physicians' orders.
  • Perform other related work as required or requested.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or the equivalent, or current enrollment in secondary school, is required.
  • Ability to work with and serve a variety of people is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team are required.
  • Reliability is required.
  • Must be able to work a weekend and holiday rotation.
  • Food service sanitation license is preferred.

Physical Demands:


  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull delivery carts



Working Conditions

  • Works in a kitchen environment with exposure to hot foods/utensils, water, and potentially slick conditions. Safety procedures are followed to limit hazards.
