Job Summary

RADA USA is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to help advance our systems engineering capabilities in the U.S, and become an integral part of the team that provides engineering solutions within cUAS, cRAM, and SHORAD domains.

The systems engineering group at RADA USA is responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), AI/ML activities, and system performance evaluation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a technical project plan to design, develop, analyze, document, test, and deliver products, systems, or subsystems in accordance with overall program cost, schedule, and technical performance targets.
  • Bring systems engineering leadership and rigor to the system design, analysis, and implementation, including requirements analysis, design and architecture, technical trade studies, engineering analyses, and concept of operations development.
  • Plan and execute design reviews as needed and establish and maintain the integrated system technical baseline, including agile change management processes.
  • Provide support to system integration and test planning, including identifying and implementing system models and simulations to characterize system performance.
  • Contribute significantly to strategic technology planning and innovation to transform the business model.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers and provide technical expertise and assistance to support personnel.
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable.
  • Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and the customer as required.
  • Participate heavily in the preparation of complex and significant proposals.
  • Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress.
  • Involve in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems, which may include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others, and determine system specifications and support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed).
Competencies

Systems engineering, software, architecture, integration and test, requirements, radar, AESA, SRR, PDR, CDR, RTM, MBSE, SOSA, MOSA, JIRA, TEMP, cUAS, cRAM, cUAV, VPS, APS.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge.
  • Expected to have knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines.
  • DOD Secret level clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.
  • Broad systems engineering experience including thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.
  • Ability to develop system requirements from limited source documentation and work with development teams to map requirements into an Agile execution framework.
  • Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g. specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience supporting DoD customers and processes.
  • Advanced experience with requirements management and system modeling tools, such as DOORS, Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB.
  • Experience in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).
Desired Qualification
  • Experience leading SE teams through all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle using Digital Engineering (MBSE)Experience or familiarity with administration of Model Based Engineering tools
  • Broad Model Based Engineering Applications and Technology background (i.e. tools, ontologies, OSLC, internet of things, cyber security, etc.)
  • Experience or familiarity with various analytical and decisions aid tools (e.g. Cameo, MatLab, STK, etc.)
  • Experience with the DoD architectural framework and design guidance for radar systems and systems engineering processes.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with industry and academic partners.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to effectively communicate to senior leadership within the company, customer and academic communities.
  • Strong analysis skills and abilities.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
