Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our team at a reputable healthcare facility. This role is integral to the pharmacy department, focusing on assisting pharmacists in medication preparation and distribution within an inpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital pharmacy operations, possess strong technical skills, and demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare medications in a sterile environment, including weighing, mixing, counting, labeling, and recording dosage.
- Maintain the pharmacys sterile compounding area, ensuring a clean and safe environment in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the cleanroom and equipment to maintain compliance with USP 797 and 800 standards.
- Prepare crash carts.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing supplies effectively.
- Work closely with pharmacists and other technicians to ensure accurate and timely preparation and dispensing of medication.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies and procedures, including health and safety standards.
Shift:
- Second shift: 2:30pm 11:00pm.
- Weekend coverage and overnight fill in needs may also be needed.
Qualifications:
- Inpatient hospital experience
- Sterile compounding experience preferred.
- Illinois pharmacy technician license.
- PTCB certification.
