Position Summary:  A Cook is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
  • Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
  • Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
  • Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed

Job Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a line cook in a full-service restaurant.

Culinary Skills: Proficiency in various cooking techniques including grilling, sautéing, frying, and food presentation.

Food Safety Knowledge: Understanding of food safety protocols and regulations including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures.

Time Management: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to cooking timelines.

Teamwork: Capable of collaborating effectively with other kitchen staff members to ensure smooth operations during service.

Communication Skills: Clear communication skills to effectively convey orders, instructions, and any kitchen-related issues to team members and management.

Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as required in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and crowded kitchen environment.

Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during food preparation or service.

Availability: Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the demands of the restaurant's operation.

Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while representing the restaurant.
