You will join a systems engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting US Space Force (USSF) satellite communications for the USSF Space Systems Center (SSC). You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. You will lead and support several working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolve and identify risk, requirement gaps, developing briefings, writing, and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as government liaison for Strategic Sustainment System Test Support activities; drive disciplined problem resolution by reporting blockers, issues & concerns, developing & recommending solutions, and timely executing required project modifications
  • Manages a team in the day-to-day conduct, execution, and positive results baseline test and evaluation (T&E) activities, from requirements formulation through test planning and performance verification, for compliance with approved test strategies and plan.
  • Support programmatic discussions including briefing, and coordinating with, senior government leadership, guiding installation/integration of new hardware/software, and interfacing with industry partners and operational stakeholders
  • Support government contract efforts to estimate and track costs, schedule, and performance of required system support contracts
  • Author and deliver program documentation including status reports, white papers, working group charts, trip reports
  • Support Integrated Product Team Director in tracking new program transitions from acquisition to sustainment to forecast resource requirements and gaps
  • Operate satellite communication terminals and associated baseband equipment for Strategic System Test Support activities

Travel: approximately 10%

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline
  • 15+ years of proven leadership experience in program management, leading a diverse group of personnel while managing multiple projects within a portfolio of systems from start to finish
  • 15+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships
  • Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Active Top Secret clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) (i.e., PMP) or DAU Level III Program Management (PM) certification
  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification (i.e. CSEP or ESEP)
  • Experience with MILSATCOM systems in the RF spectrum
  • Experience developing, testing, operating, or maintaining MILSATCOM equipment and systems
  • Experience working in a multi-contractor environment
