The Mustard Seed is looking for a dynamic leader to oversee our beverage program and lead our bar team to deliver outstanding service. 
Our store is located at 2901 Brooks at the Southgate Mall, Missoula MT, 59801

This role is primarily as a bartender, with 3-5 hours a week in administrative duties that will include inventory and ordering.

Our Lead Bartender will keep up on trends in the bartending industry, bringing ideas and exciting ways to improve our beverage program. They are involved in the running and the success of the bar. Our lead bartender will positively inspire the bar team to constantly improve and drive outstanding guest service. They contribute to the creation of seasonal drink menus with innovative drink recipes.

Most of all, our Lead Bartender will draw guests to the bar. They make all guests feel included and special. They are gifted at creating an atmosphere of celebration and bring a fresh spark of enthusiasm to every shift.

Mustard Seed offers flexible schedules and a base wage of $13-15* an hour, with additional income thanks to our generous tip pool. Required experience & Knowledge:

• 2 years of bartending in a full-service restaurant.
• Previous experience with bar inventory management
• Be able to demonstrate deep knowledge of all types of liquor, liqueurs, aperitifs, and all other spirits in addition to beers and wine.
• ability to understand cost control and utilize it to manage cost of goods on all bar indgredients.
• Successful candidates will bring a portfolio of cocktail creations to the interview
• additionally, you must be able to:
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • bend reach and move freely
  • lift 50 lbs.

The Mustard Seed was started in 1978 in Missoula, Montana by a group of friends and family. Included in that group were sisters Betty and Nancy Tokumoto and Betty's husband, David Hall. Betty and Nancy grew up in Okinawa, Bangkok, and Hawaii and attended college in Oregon; so, they have a unique ability to blend the cooking styles of the Far East with the tastes of the Pacific Northwest. Our recipes were created or inspired by the Tokumoto sisters.
