General Summary
Electronic Controls Technician III requires knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, testing, installation, maintenance, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems related to electronic engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adheres to maintenance standards and procedures while testing and evaluating new or modified electronic systems.
- Installs equipment in accordance with plans, specifications, and detailed instructions, or reinstalls repaired or modified systems. Completes testing, evaluates data, and determines acceptability of equipment modifications, validity, test procedures and data, or legality of operation.
- Repairs systems and equipment to include detecting and diagnosing malfunctions; tearing down equipment, repairing or replacing parts or components, or aligning, calibrating and testing the modified or repaired equipment.
- Analyzes and diagnoses faults in the operational configuration of electronic systems and equipment. Interprets circuit wiring, logic cable diagrams, drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete systems and equipment to understand the function of interconnections of the various assemblies and troubleshoots the system.
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance to keep equipment and systems in reliable condition.
- Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces, assists others as part of the maintenance team as required and performs other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Instructor, inspector, or mechanic using your knowledge of a variety of types of electronic equipment. This experience must have included the use of schematic diagrams and a variety of test equipment, involving such duties as testing, troubleshooting, modifying, designing, calibrating, installing, maintaining, repairing, or instructing on electronic equipment or similar functions.
Education
- Licensed Electrician.
- Successful completion of 2 years of study to include at least 12 semester hours in engineering, physical science, technology, or mathematics. At least 6 of the 12 semester hours must have been in electronics courses or minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in a healthcare or commercial industry as an Electronic Technician.
- Medical Gas Certification.
- NICET Training preferred.
Work Environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
- Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
